We can confirm that support for Pioneer and JVC-Kenwood car audio head units has been deprecated. This means it will no longer be possible to launch the built-in Spotify app from the interface, but you should still be able to play audio from your mobile devices via Bluetooth or through a USB cable. (possibly on other units as well) Kenwoods' fix was to make it so the volume increases by only one level everytime you touch the little button. Lots of people have bitched and moaned about this on here:
Anyhow I swapped out 3 different amps (Alpine pdx-f4, Alpine x-70f, US Acoustics usx-4085 and JL Audio HD600) that are decent and clean and the problem persists. One of the installers at my current shop kept saying the problem more than likely is with my Kenwood DDX9903s head unit. The owner didn’t think it was the issue as they checked the
